Pedaling through exotic rivers, valleys and near our active volcanoes is just the beginning. You will enjoy rafting on the renowned Pacuare River, a kayak ride with snorkeling in the crystalline waters of the Pacific Ocean.

All this savoring the delicious typical traditional food of our beautiful country always with the warm hospitality of our experienced Costa Rican guides.

Day 1
Arrival in San Jose
Day

Your guide will meet you at the airport waiting for you and your flight, then begin your way to your hotel located in the distinguished Orosi Valley, the epicenter of cycling in Costa Rica.
At the end of the afternoon we will have a small technical talk where we adjust our bicycles and share some safety tips.
We finished our first meeting with a delicious Casado (Traditional Costa Rican food).

Day 2
Pedaling in the Reventazón Valley
Day 0

Our route this morning starts from our hotel where we enter the scene. The splendid valley of Orosi and the bursting river surrounded by plantations of coffee, sugar cane and palmito, are recognized by the amount of cyclists that they lodge daily. Our hotel is located in a spectacular viewpoint, overlooking the hydroelectric project of Angostura and the Turrialba Valley, located on the slopes of the active volcano which has the same name.

Cycling distance: 49 km (30 miles).

Day 3
Rafting Pacuare River
Day 0

After driving for a few minutes we will enjoy a full day at the Pacuare River, one of the most famous worldwide in this activity. Downstream we will have contact with a tropical scenary, canyons and different points where you can even swim. Wildlife is present at moment we passed through its virgin forest, home today of some indigenous tribes still present in our national territory.
Professional guides with years of experience will guide us during the tour and take care of prepare a special lunch by the river in the middle of the forest.
After the activity we´ll move to Sarapiquí, where vegetation continues surprising every day to the visitors

Day 4
Cattle farms, sugar plantations and rain forest

After moving to Aguas Zarcas this morning, we will pass through agricultural fields in the northern valley of the country, located in the largest canton of the country, San Carlos.
We will arrive in the afternoon at our hotel located on the outskirts of the main road, a rainforest reserve. Wide paths, a giant pool with Jacuzzi, besides options to explore and have a well deserved afternoon of relaxation.

Distance: 33 km (20 miles). or 71 km (45 miles).

Day 5
Guided walk and optional cycling

The tropical rainforest reserves in La Fortuna protect some of the last low and medium height tropical forests in Central America. Today after the bike part, we head towards the Arenal Volcano National Park, where you can choose a short walk or a longer walk guided by one of our local naturalists. After the walk we will go to the town of La Fortuna where we will enjoy a relaxing moment in the hot springs accompanied by an exquisite dinner buffet style.

Day 6
Cycling near the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal

This morning we have the option to do Canopy or any other activity in the Arenal area. Later, the Arenal Volcano dominates our trip. And what a view it is! When approaching Lake Arenal, keep your eyes and ears open for the playful sounds of howler monkeys and the comical antics of coatimundi (Pizote), as well as other wild animals that call the lake their home. Today our destination is located in the middle of the Tenorio and Miravalles volcanoes, which are used to extract geothermal energy.

Day 7
Celeste River

Today we skip the bicycles for a guided walk on the slopes of Tenorio Volcano National Park. This 7 km walk takes us to the point where the Mother Nature magically mixes the water of two crystalline streams, changing its color to the beautiful light blue we call Celeste. The trail continues through the forest to reach the impressive Rio Celeste waterfall. All this time the surrounding jungle is full of incredible ways of life, smells and sounds. In the afternoon we move to the pacific coast, Esterillos beach awaits us tonight.

Day 8
Kayak and Snorkeling on the Pacific Coast

Today we will ride our bicycles to our last destination, Manuel Antonio, where we will take the kayaks for an afternoon of rowing and snorkeling. Each kayak has a capacity of 2 thru 4 people, so you do not have to do all the work. We row for 25 minutes to a small beach beyond the coast where we stop to eat fresh fruit, rest, swim and dive before paddling to the starting point. The sunset on the beautiful beach is one of the best in the country. Finally you can relax in the pool or take a walk on the coast almost without fluttering on this gem of a place.

Day 9
Manuel Antonio National Park

The last day of our adventure in Costa Rica takes us to the near Manuel Antonio National Park for a guided walk in the forest, plus a relaxing time on the beach. We will celebrate the end of our trip with a final dinner together at the restaurant by the sea in the area.

Day 10
Transfer to San Jose

After breakfast together, drive 2 hours back to San Jose and the International Airport for those who need to get home. PURA VIDA!
