A soothing soak in one of the naturally heated thermal springs at Arenal Volcano is something you definitely shouldn’t miss on your trip to Costa Rica.
The best known site is Tabacon Hot Springs. This luxurious facility is located right in the place where the former village was destroyed by the 1968 eruption. The Hot Springs is really a hot water stream made into a series of pools and artificial waterfalls. There is a swim up bar with music and a buffet restaurant. Massage and Spa services are top quality in a very beautiful setting. It can get very crowded and noisy with tour buses during the afternoon and early evening. Reservations are required, especially in high season (December to May).
Baldi is another big facility closer to La Fortuna. It also has a swim up bar and restaurant. This is the most popular Hot Springs among the young crowd.
Across the street is the entrance of our favorite hot spring option: Eco Termales. Smaller and more private than the others, this place has a series of pools set in a patch of lush forest and tropical gardens. There is a bar near the pools and a great restaurant serving traditional Costa Rican meals with an authentic home cooking flavor. Immaculate changing rooms and showers. There is a limit to the number of people swimming at the same time so reservations are absolutely necessary.
We'd be glad to drop you off at any of these Hot Springs after your Biking or Hiking tour with us or as part of your Costa Rica vacationContact us for your reservations
