We will drive from La Fortuna to the Arenal dam. There we will board a boat which will take us across Arenal Lake for 20 minutes. During this trip we will be able to observe the Arenal Volcano from another angle and notice this way the markings left on the mountain by the past eruptions (1988,1992)
Reaching the town of El Castillo we will take a short rest, while we get ready to start our trip on horses that will take us more than a hundred years back in the history of transportation in Costa Rica, using a trail that our grandparents opened as the means of communication between small towns of the region. Today it is one of the most beautiful scenes in the country
Variety of birds such as toucans, oropéndolas trogons, booboos and also mammals such as the pizote, monkeys, martillas and tejones, just to mention some, will be possible to be seen during our tour of around 31/2 hours, crossing rivers, secondary forests, primary forests, and climbing up mountains with impressing views to the Arenal Lake and the whole surroundings of this exuberant region.
